I am learning about trees (and shrubs) and have struggled to identify them so this is documentation of what I have identified so far and what I still have outstanding to identify. I hope eventually this will be more complete of the trees I see. I started this in October so the trees I've started with have changed colour and lots have berries so I must check in the spring / summer for flowers and green leaves.
The trees are in alphabetical order
Ash (Fraxinus excelsior)

Callicarpa
beginning of November 2018

Dogwood (Cornus)
I saw this at the plantings at Coal Drops Yard at King's Cross, October 2018. Not sure exactly which dogwood this is and I didn't see the flowers earlier in the year (maybe I did - must review my photos) so will go back in the spring.

Field Maple
this fresh green seedling I saw in Regent's Park November 2018

I saw this small tree at Woodberry Down, London N4, November 2018

Holly
beginning of November 2018
I have a holly shrub in my front garden, sadly without berries, guess it's a male. This one is definitely tree proportions - and a female.

Indian Bean Tree (Catalpa bignonioides)

Indian Horse Chestnut
November 2018

this is the seed from one of those seedpods hanging on the tree

Larch (Larix)
June 2018, I was out photographing spring flowers so not expecting to see cones but these caught my eye. I guess I missed the flowers. Now I know this tree is nearby, I'll have to look at it earlier in the spring next year. (Trunk is hardly visible in this photo with those two large posts either side thicker than the trunk)

The trunk is on the right, on the left is one of two posts supporting the tree.

London Plane (Platanus × acerifolia)
November 2018

Maidenhair Tree (Ginkgo biloba)

Oak (Quercus robur)
November 2018

I also saw an oak with rather different leaves in Regent's Park. I'll have to research what type it is, if indeed it is an oak.

Swedish Service-Tree (Sorbus x. hybrida ? )
October 2018

Willow (Salix babylonica)
October 2018

Yew (Taxus baccata)
November 2018 with lots of "berries" (actually immature cones: seed surrounded by a fleshy aril)

Unknowns
this was quite near the Indian chestnut above
